Approximately 90% of people who have a home library service have been contacted by someone from the library service.
Everyone is getting involved including librarians, service managers, senior library managers and home library staff.
Kirstie Matkin is co-coordinating the work and said:
“The key messages are to let people know their service had been suspended while libraries are closed but that there was other council help available. Also we’re here to offer a friendly ear.”
Other work includes Wendy Kurcewicz who has had the asklibrary telephone messages redirected to herself and has personally answered nearly 200 queries from the public.
Meanwhile Catherine Moorcroft is carrying out calls for home library clients, volunteers and other vulnerable library users who attend Chesterfield, Dronfield and Buxton listening groups.
