Nicky, a Local Area Co-ordinator redeployed as a CRU Community Responder, is helping delivering urgent food and prescriptions to people.

One of the many ways that she has been helping the local community is ensuring people who leave hospital have enough food at home.

A recent example was when she was asked to help with buying some urgent food for a person who had recently come out of hospital because they had no food in the house.

Carers had arranged and were planning to help him prepare his food. However, the person didn’t have a microwave meaning their carers could not prepare anything.

Nicky offered to find a microwave when she went shopping for the food. Panic over as Nicky managed to buy food and a microwave!
