Army officer outside County Hall in Matlock

Responding to a pandemic takes the knowledge and expertise of people from every walk of life. The Army has been supporting efforts across the UK to respond to the challenges that the coronavirus outbreak has brought.

Military planners (a Second Lieutenant from the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Regiment is pictured here) have been working with the Local Resilience forum, which is a partnership of public sector organisations, in Derbyshire. They have been helping to source and deliver personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline care and medical workers across the county and to ensure we have the facilities needed to manage the challenges the outbreak has brought.
