Derbyshire’s refuse collectors are key workers who form part of the frontline in delivering essential services.

Chris and Graham had a nice surprise when emptying bins in Stanley, Erewash when they found a ‘Thanks to our great binmen’ message on the front garden of a house.

Bin collections are provided by the county’s District and Borough councils who are working flat out to keep services running. Some disruption to green waste services has taken place while councils prioritise the collection of household waste and recycling.

Erewash Borough Council has called on residents to show their Derbyshire Spirit and take part in in national efforts to reduce waste.
