“The beautiful weather lifted spirits in the village bringing out the old, neighbours with young children and the solitary walker - each keeping his or her specified distance – to use the public footpath across our fields where they absorbed the wildlife, the birdsong, and the view of the lovely Linacre Reservoir.

“The quiet murmur of conversation, the chiming voices of young children ringing out a defiance of the dark cloud which threatened us all, fell like a blessing on the earth and our ears.

“We were grateful for the opportunity to provide some respite.”
