Getting to the pharmacy for vital medicines isn't possible for everybody at the moment so Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service's frontline team are helping out.

Working with the Derbyshire County Council through the Community Response Unit, firefighters are collecting prescriptions from over 50 independent pharmacies across the county and delivering medication to our most vulnerable friends and neighbours.

Station Manager Nathan Stevens said:

"We've joined forces with Peak Pharmacy and various independent pharmacies to assist with the delivery of vital medicines, from over 50 pharmacies across the county, to the most vulnerable members of our communities. I'm really pleased that DFRS can assist our community with vital supplies in these unprecedented times."

So far well over 2,500 prescriptions have been delivered. You can find out more on Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service’s website.
