Olga Mrozikowa usually attends Dronfield Parish Church every Sunday and it’s a tradition that the church choir and congregation celebrate people’s special day by singing happy birthday.

Olga’s granddaughter, who used to sing in the choir, thought it would be a lovely idea if she could still have the choir sing to her on her birthday despite not being able to be at church.

She got in touch with church Choir Master Rob Aldread who created a backing track for choir members to film themselves singing along to, which he then collated into a short video.

Olga watched the recording at home and thought it was wonderful as it was the only thing she had been going to miss on her birthday.

Dronfield Parish Church Choir has not been able to meet since the lockdown measures began. However they have formed a virtual choir which has been growing in numbers since their first song for Palm Sunday.

The choir have now done three songs which are available on their website, as well as one done by the Young Voices Choir.
